By default a parent approves every draft before a student sees it. Auto-approval lets a family switch that gate off for drafts, for corrections, or for both. It is off unless you turn it on, and it is a meaningful decision rather than a convenience.

What it does

Family → Family has an Auto-approval section with two independent toggles:

  • Assignment drafts: a draft that passes the quality gate is approved the moment the agent creates it. It becomes a student-visible assignment and never enters the approval queue.
  • Correction drafts: a suggested correction that passes the gate is applied immediately. The score, feedback and weak topics land on the student's submission without your review.

You can turn on one without the other. A common middle ground is auto-approving corrections while still reading every new assignment.

Only a parent of the family can change these settings.

What it does not do

  • It does not skip the quality gate. A draft that fails is still rejected and stored as such.
  • It does not auto-approve a follow-up that is paired with a suggested correction on its own. The pair lands together, when the correction is approved by you or by auto-approval for corrections.
  • It does not touch anything already in the queue. Existing pending drafts still wait for you.
  • It does not weaken family isolation or rate limits.

Where auto-approved work shows

Because there is no pending state, auto-approved drafts never appear in Approval queue or in the Needs Approval panel. Look for them instead in:

  • Today and the student's page, as ordinary assignments.
  • The student's and subject's Timeline.
  • Family → Activity, logged as an approval with source "auto".
  • The weekly digest, which counts drafts approved either way.

It is easy to underestimate how much an agent produces once the queue is quiet. Check the digest.

Before turning it on

Run a few weeks with manual approval first and watch Family → Trust. If the share of reviewed drafts you approved is high and you rarely edit the agent's suggestions, auto-approval changes little except your workload. If you reject or edit often, keep the gate.

Turning it off

Switch the toggle off and save. Future drafts wait for you again immediately. Assignments that were already auto-approved stay as they are; delete any you do not want from their correction page.
