An assignment moves through a fixed set of statuses. The Dashboard shows the parent-facing name and the Student app shows a simpler label. This is what each one means and who moves it forward.

Before an assignment exists
Drafts are not assignments. A draft in the approval queue can be Pending your review, Approved, Rejected, or Gate-failed if it did not pass the quality gate. Only an approved draft becomes an assignment with the statuses above.
Where statuses show
- Today on the Dashboard lists each assignment with its current status and due date.
- The student page groups assignments into Waiting for you, In flight, Corrected and Done.
- The subject page shows the same for one subject.
- The Student app inbox shows the student-facing label on each card.
Due dates
A due date is optional. When set, Today orders assignments by it. An overdue assignment does not change status on its own; it stays where it is until the student submits.
Deleting
An assignment can be deleted from its correction page at any status. It disappears from the student's app and from every count. This is not reversible.
