Every assignment an agent drafts waits in the approval queue until a parent approves it. The student never sees a draft. This article covers what you see in the queue and what each action does.

Where to find it

Open Approval queue under Dashboard in the sidebar, or click the Needs Approval panel on the home page. The count next to the heading is how many items are waiting. Use the student filter to show one student at a time.

You also get an email when a new draft lands, with an "Open dashboard" button. You can turn these emails off from Settings → Profile.

What a draft shows

  • The title, the student and the subject.
  • The instructions the student would see, and any due date.
  • Drafted by and when. The source is the agent that wrote it, or "parent" if a request came from you.
  • The agent's rationale, when it gave one. This is written for you, not the student.
  • Previous versions, when the agent revised the draft before you looked at it.

Approve

Choose Approve. The draft becomes an assignment, appears in the student's inbox in the Student app, and shows under Today on the Dashboard. If the student has push notifications on, the device is notified.

Approval is final. To take an approved assignment back, delete it from the correction page.

Reject

Choose Reject draft. You can add a reason under Help the agent do better. The reason is optional but useful: connected agents can read recent rejections and adjust the next draft.

A rejected draft is kept in the timeline and in the agent's view of recent rejections. Nothing reaches the student.

Drafts that fail the quality gate

Before a draft reaches the queue, Tutosaic runs a quality gate on it: minimum length for title and instructions, no AI meta-commentary in the student-facing text, and no student full names. A draft that fails is recorded as rejected and never shows up in the queue. You can see these in Family → Activity.

Suggested corrections

The queue also holds corrections an agent suggested for a submitted assignment. Those are reviewed on the assignment's correction page. See "Suggested corrections and paired follow-ups".

If the queue is empty but the agent is working

Check Family → Family. If auto-approval is on, passing drafts are approved automatically and never enter the queue. See "Auto-approval" in the AI agents collection.
