The first time you sign in, Tutosaic walks you through a three-step setup. It takes a couple of minutes and you can change everything later.

Step 1 of 3: name your family

Enter a family name, for example "The Silva family". This name appears in emails, in the weekly digest and at the top of the Dashboard. You become the first parent of the family.

Step 2 of 3: add the first student

Enter the student's first name. You can add a school year and more students later from the Dashboard.

Every student gets their own page with pairing codes, test results, evaluations and class summaries.

Step 3 of 3: pair the Student app

Tutosaic generates a pairing code for the student. It looks like XXXX-XXXX.

  1. Install Tutosaic Student on the student's phone or tablet.
  2. Open the app. It starts on the Pair screen.
  3. Type the code exactly as shown. Use Copy code in the Dashboard if you want to send it to the device.

The app exchanges the code for a device token and lands on the student's inbox. The Dashboard shows the device as paired.

You can skip this step and pair later from Family → Devices. The Dashboard works without a paired device, but the student cannot receive assignments until one is paired.

Adding another student

Before you finish, choose Add another student if more than one child will use Tutosaic. Each student gets their own pairing code. You can also do this later from any student page.

Open the Dashboard

Choose Open dashboard to finish. From here the usual next steps are:

  • Create a subject under Subjects so drafts have somewhere to go.
  • Connect an agent under Family → Agents, or ask a tutor to.
  • Ask the agent for a first assignment from the Dashboard.

Changing what you set here

  • Family name and weekly digest timezone: Family.
  • Student name and school year: the student's page.
  • Pairing codes and paired devices: Family → Devices or the student's page.
