Weak topics are the signal that turns corrections into the next assignment. They are short labels attached to a corrected assignment, and Tutosaic counts them across the family so you and your agent can see what keeps coming up.

How a weak topic gets recorded

  • By you, in the Weak topics (comma-separated) field when you correct a submission.
  • By an agent, as part of a suggested correction. It only lands if you use the suggestion or approve it.

A weak topic is plain text. "Equivalent fractions" and "equivalent fraction" count as two different topics, so pick a wording and stick to it. The correction form shows the topics already used in that subject to help you stay consistent.

Where they show up

  • Dashboard home: Top weak topics to reinforce ranks the most frequent topics across the family, with a per-student breakdown.
  • Subject page: Weak-topic frequency for that subject only.
  • Weak topic page: click any topic to open it. You see how many assignments it was tagged on, split by student and by subject, plus the timeline of those corrections.
  • Student app: the Review tab lists the student's own weak topics as areas to revise.
  • Weekly digest: the top weak topics of the week, per student.
  • Agents: the list_top_weak_topics tool returns the same ranking, which is how an agent decides what to draft next.

Using them well

  • Tag two or three topics per correction, not ten. The count is more useful than the coverage.
  • Prefer the names from the subject's curriculum list so drafts and weak topics line up.
  • When a topic stops appearing in corrections, it drops down the ranking on its own. There is nothing to clear.

Removing a wrong tag

Open the assignment's correction page, edit the weak topics field and mark it corrected again. The counts update immediately.
